Britain’s most successful female musical export Leona Lewis has announced a 10-date tour of the UK and Ireland next summer. Big emotions and an even bigger vocal range require capacious venues and Leona’s debut tour takes in many of the country’s arenas, including Glasgow’s SECC on June 20.
‘I can’t wait to get out on tour and see everyone,’ said Lewis. ‘Over the last few years I’ve had some amazing experiences and sung in some really interesting places but it’s going to be great to be able to perform all my own material on my very own tour.’
Though the 2006 X Factor winner made her live debut aged just 13, she hadn’t performed a full length concert until the beginning of November when she sang at London’s Hackney Empire. Just as that gig sparkled with couture outfits and both visual and vocal theatrics, these concerts are set to feature expert staging, choreography and effects – not to mention vast quantities of dry ice. As well as playing from her six million-selling debut album Spirit, she’ll perform from sleek new album Echoes, which features a cover of Oasis’ 2002 hit Stop Crying Your Heart Out as well as her recent hit Happy which had its UK TV debut on – where else – the X Factor.
Tickets are on sale from 9.30am Friday 27 November, with Lewis running to:
Friday 28 May – Sheffield Arena 0114 256 5656
Monday 31 May – Liverpool Echo Arena 0844 8000 400
